Sixteen and Driving

I feel sixteen year olds need more time behind the wheel before they are able to possess a driver’s license. I also feel if there is a driving course available at their school that they should be required to take it. The statistics show motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among teenagers. Sixteen year olds also have higher crash rates than any other age. Some risk factors for teenage drivers are poor hazard protection, low risk perception, risk taking, lack of skill, and not wearing a seatbelt. I also seen on the news that there are cars that in able for the radio will turn on the driver and passenger have to have their seatbelt on if not the radio will not come on. That to me is a really good incentive to wear your seatbelt because I could’t imagine not listening to the radio. I did not get my drivers license to I was twenty-five and having a daughter makes me a safe driver. I must worry about her safety, she is my number one priority.
